A Brief History of Our House
How it all started
“Our House” began in 2014 as a simple gathering in Dave and Karen Wheeldon’s cosy living room, where a handful of faithful friends came together to worship and share their faith.
The intimate setting fostered a deep sense of community and spiritual growth, making each meeting a cherished event. As word spread, more people were drawn to the warmth and authenticity of these gatherings, and the living room soon overflowed with new faces eager to join.
In 2016, and realising the need for a larger space, Dave and Karen transitioned the group to a nearby community centre, yet the name “Our House” remained. A tribute to their humble beginnings. The church continued to flourish, marked by passionate worship, heartfelt sermons, and a strong commitment to serving others. Today, “Our House” stands as a beacon of faith, welcoming all who seek a spiritual home.
In 2018 we moved again. This time to a larger hall at Yateley Manor School, which is where we currently meet. Despite its growth, the church retains the intimate, welcoming atmosphere that characterized its inception, continuing to build on its foundation of love and community.

Karen heads up pastoral care and is a compassionate leader and mentor, deeply committed to nurturing relationships and guiding others in their spiritual journey.

In addition to being a trustee, Dave leads the men's ministry at Our House. He is an avid sailor and walker, and in his youth, he represented South Africa in international hockey.

Grace is in charge of all things admin. Booking venues, putting rotas together, managing our safeguarding and everything in between. We couldn't run without her! Grace is your first point of contact for most things church related.

Amy does an excellent job of keeping us on track financially. She collaborates closely with the trustees and leadership to ensure our accounts are accurate and up to date, allowing us to budget effectively.
